One outstanding example of HF du Pont's collection is a maple chest of drawers, made in Massachusetts between 1790 and 1810. The original chest resides in the Winterthur Museum. This elegant reproduction has a serpentine front that flares out on both sides, ending in fluted pilasters. The overhanging top conforms to the serpentine shape as do the bracket feet.
